About the course
The course is designed to attain the Itqan (perfection) level in reciting the Quran for serious students of the Holy Quran with continuous Sanad (Chain of Qur’an Reciters) connected to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Through this one-on-one online ijazah course, the students learn advanced topics in Tajweed and Qiraat through repetition with objective to attain the Itqan in one of the Quran recitations.
Quran Ijazah Meaning
Ijazah is a certificate that authorized its holder permission to recite and teach the Quran with Tajweed. The purpose of Ijazah is to establish the narration of the Quran through a chain of authorized transmitters going back to Prophet Mohammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) then to the angel Jibraeel (upon him be peace) and then finally to the Almighty Allah the original author. In other words, an Ijazah is a symbol of merit from a qualified teacher to his student of being able to recite the Qur’an without mistakes and the eligibility to grant others Ijazah after evaluation of their recitation. This tradition makes it possible to transmit the Quran in its authenticity to future generations as it was revealed to the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and to the Qur’an from any change and any falsification. It is also the highest degree of reading perfection of the Quran.
Our Quran Ijazah Online Programs
We offer two main Quran Ijazah online programs:
- Ijazah in Quran Recitation Program
- Hifz Ijazah Program
We offer Ijazah Certificate in One or More of the Ten Qirats of the Quran:
Qirat refers to the different manners of recitation of the Quran. Each recitation has its own Tajweed rules.
Following are the Ten recitations of the Holy Quran:
- Naafi’ Al-Madanee. (Madinah)
- Imam Malik recited in this manner. Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal often recited in this manner.
- Ibn Katheer al-Makee. (Makkah)
- Imam Shafi recited in this manner.
- Asim al-Kufi (Koofah)
- Imaam Abu Hanifa recited in this manner. Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal often recited in this manner.
- Abu Amr al-Basri (Basra)
- Ibn Aamir ash-Shami (Syria)
- Hamzah Al-Kufi (Koofah)
- Al-Kisaa’ee
- Abu Ja’far Al-Madanee (Madinah)
- Yaqub ibn Al-Basri (Basra)
- Imam Bukhari recited in this manner.

Who can join Ijazah in Quran Recitation Program?
To join Quran Ijazah Program a student should have solid knowledge of tajweed rules before beginning the Ijazah in Quran Recitation Program.

Steps to Getting your Ijazah Certificate:
As we take giving an ijazah seriously, the student should pass the following procedure to obtain an ijazah of the Qur’an:

Firstly: The student has to recite the whole Quran from beginning to end to our qualified teacher.

Secondly: the student should also study the rules of Tajweed in detail and the exceptional rules of Qira’ah (Qur’an recitation).

Thirdly: the student should pass through a series of tests by carefully applying each rule of tajweed with full command of his/her knowledge, to his teacher. Our Certification is given after the successful exam by the teacher and is only granted upon the his/ her recommendation.

 * Note: As we are very serious about giving an Ijazah, we do not give it except for an eligible and worthy student. So, a student is not guaranteed to receive their ijaazah certificate upon completing the first reading. The student may be required to return to reviewing in the Qur’an course and read a second (or third, or more) time for the certificate.
How to Get Ijazah Certificate
Upon receiving the recommendation for a certificate by the teacher, Khairu Jaleesen institute will send an official certificate signed by the institute and the teacher himself. Thus, this certificate will allow the student to be recognized for teaching the Quran in mosques, Islamic centers or Islamic universities.
